Rabbit Dental Health: Early Diagnosis Helps Little Bunny Enjoy Tasty Hay Again

Rabbits Can Have Dental Problems Too! Today, we want to share a little story about rabbit dental health. Our little bunny friend, just 1 year old, almost missed out on delicious hay due to an oral issue.

Symptoms: The bunny suddenly stopped eating hay, had a reduced appetite, and was drooling severely. It seemed lethargic all the time, which worried its owner a lot.

Preliminary Diagnosis: Upon initial examination, we suspected that the bunny might be suffering from acquired dental disease. Many people may not know this, but rabbits have a unique dental system. Their teeth grow continuously, and if not managed properly, they can become too long or misshapen, making it difficult for them to eat normally.

Detailed Examination: After anesthesia, we carefully checked the bunny's mouth and found sharp dental spurs on both sides of the tongue. These sharp points had punctured the tongue's mucosa, causing painful ulcers that made eating even harder for the bunny!

Treatment Plan: To help this little bunny recover, we used specialized exotic pet dental tools to smooth out the sharp dental spurs. Now, the bunny can enjoy its hay again! But we didn’t stop there. We provided hospitalization care, gave anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medication, and fed the bunny powdered hay to assist in its recovery and promote a healthy diet.

Treatment Results: After some time of treatment and care, the bunny’s oral health significantly improved. More importantly, we also helped adjust its diet to ensure the digestive system was functioning normally, and the bunny regained its energy and vitality.

Tip: Like other small animals, rabbits need regular attention to their dental health. A balanced diet, including an adequate amount of hay and hard foods, can help naturally wear down their teeth. Regular oral checks are key to preventing dental diseases and keeping our pets healthy and happy!

If your bunny is showing similar symptoms, don’t wait too long—bring them in for a check-up! Early detection and treatment lead to healthier, happier days for your pet. 🐰💖
