Xiao Ai’s friend, Pebbles is an adorable little chubby bundle of joy with a white coat and a hint of caramel. She has a big, beefy bulldog chest and an angry frown; she loves being patted when she comes to Ada’s! A stark contrast to her sister; Gia, a smiley French Bulldog who is curious about her surroundings, she loves to scoot around Ada’s and is super active!

The happy-go-lucky puppies were once rescues, and it took two long weeks of checkups and treatments, surgeries and grooming, as well as training at a pet training centre, before Pebbles and Gia's parents brought them home from the shelter to start their new lives. Pebbles was panting badly that when she came to Ada’s for a dental cleaning, it was discovered that her soft palate was too long and her nostrils were too small, which made it difficult for her to breathe, and she was more susceptible to oxygen deprivation and poorer heat dissipation than other dogs. (BOAS is the professional term for short-headed dog upper respiratory syndrome.) If the situation gets serious, it can also lead to slow heat stroke. On Dr Alex Sun's advice, Pebbles‘ parents decided to have Pebbles’ nostrils dilated and her soft palate removed. After the surgery, Pebbles' parents reflected that she snorts less and made less noise when she panting. She is now more active and happy with her breathing, and even in the summer, she breaths just fine!

Pebbles and Gia have quickly adapted to their new environment. They love running on the lawn, they sleep close together like best siblings, and despite the mess they made of their parents’ flat, they always provide the sisters unconditional love. Thank you to Pebbles and Gia's parent for giving the sisters a warm home and the best treatment possible, and thank you to all of you who have created a second chance at life for them.
